2026 crypto narratives are getting easier to map. Here’s how I’m looking at the major sectors right now: [1] DeAI Probably the most narrative-driven category. ▸ @bittensor → decentralized intelligence ▸ @virtuals_io + @AskVenice → agents / consumer-facing AI ▸ @Fetch_ai / @ASI_Alliance → largest market-cap gravity The opportunity is obvious, but so is the risk. This sector can move faster than fundamentals, so the real question is whether decentralized AI can turn narrative into actual usage. [2] Privacy — coming back hard After years of underperformance, privacy is heating up again. ▸ @Zcash + @monero → blue-chip privacy plays ▸ @zano_project + @RAILGUN_Project → higher-beta, more experimental Regulation remains the biggest variable. But any meaningful shift in privacy adoption or regulatory treatment could bring serious attention back to the sector. [3] DePIN Still one of the cleanest real-world utility narratives. ▸ @GEODNET + @helium → physical infrastructure ▸ @rendernetwork → decentralized GPU marketplace ▸ @ionet → competitive compute, but with heavier token-emission pressure The narrative is becoming less about “can decentralized infrastructure work?” And more about who can generate sustainable demand. [4] Perp DEXs ▸ @HyperliquidX remains the benchmark. ▸ @Aster_DEX and @OfficialApeXdex are fighting for second place. Product quality across the sector is improving, but competing with HYPE means competing against deep liquidity, strong execution, trader mindshare and network effects. Building a good perp DEX isn't enough anymore. [5] RWA Institutional capital is the real catalyst. ▸ @Ondo → tokenized Treasuries leader ▸ @Algorand → quietly becoming relevant for TradFi pilots ▸ @plumenetwork → RWA-native ecosystem ▸ @maplefinance / @syrupfi → onchain credit The next phase isn't just tokenizing more assets. It's deeper liquidity, more institutional participation and real financial activity moving onchain. [6] Modular / DA ▸ @celestia remains the reference point. ▸ @0G_labs and @hemi_xyz are interesting challengers. But closing the gap with TIA will require more than a strong narrative. They need real usage, developers, data availability demand and sustainable fees. 7. Staking Probably the most mature sector on this list. ▸ @LidoFinance → blue-chip incumbent ▸ @ether_fi + @jito → higher-growth plays Less narrative-driven than DeAI or privacy. But maturity brings something valuable: Liquidity, adoption and established demand. - The market is getting more selective. Narratives can attract attention, but attention alone doesn't tell you where capital will stay. The next phase will likely be about identifying the projects that can turn strong narratives into real adoption, meaningful liquidity and durable ecosystems. That’s where I’m focusing.
