MetaMask has launched the MetaMask Agent Wallet, its first self-custody wallet for AI agents, available under the Early Access Program starting June 8, 2026. The wallet integrates with AI agent frameworks via CLI and supports multiple EVM chains and Hyperliquid, offering DeFi exploit prevention through token swaps, perpetuals, prediction markets, and liquidity provision. Two modes—'Guard Mode' with daily spending limits and whitelisting, and 'Beast Mode' for advanced users—allow users to manage risk. All transactions include simulation, threat scanning, MEV protection, and up to $10,000/month in insurance coverage. Private keys remain under full user control at all times. The full release is scheduled for summer, driven by growing interest in AI and crypto developments.

According to the official MetaMask blog, MetaMask has officially launched its first self-custodial wallet designed specifically for AI agents—MetaMask Agent Wallet—and opened its Early Access Program on June 8, 2026. The wallet connects to AI agent frameworks via a command-line interface (CLI) and supports all EVM chains—including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, BSC, Linea, and Sei—as well as Hyperliquid, enabling full DeFi functionality such as token swaps, perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and liquidity provision. For security, the wallet offers two operational modes: Default "Guard Mode" allows users to set daily spending limits and protocol whitelists; transactions exceeding these rules require manual 2FA approval to execute. "Beast Mode" grants advanced users greater autonomy while still enforcing mandatory malicious transaction detection and 2FA verification. All transactions undergo simulation, Blockaid threat scanning, and MEV protection, with eligible secure transactions covered by up to $10,000 in monthly transaction insurance. Users retain full control of their private keys and can export their seed phrases at any time. The full version is expected to launch widely this summer.
