🧵 X is rolling out a new feature called Cashtags, bringing crypto and stock tracking directly into the feed. Users can now search a ticker, asset name, or even a token contract address, and the system will automatically suggest a matching Cashtag. Tapping it opens a dedicated page with related posts plus a real-time price chart. The feature turns X into a lightweight market terminal, blending social sentiment with live market data. However, X clarified it will not act as a broker—only displaying data and linking out to external services. For now, Cashtags are available only on iOS for users in the US and Canada, with a global rollout expected soon. We hope this isn’t related to that mysterious announcement by Nikita Bier, when he was teasing the crypto community a few days ago—otherwise things would actually be pretty bad for us.
