Unpopular opinion: Governance is often worse than its reputation. The concept is fundamentally sound—more tokens equal more influence. But the problem is that most users optimize for their own profit, frequently leading to decisions like higher payouts, short-term returns, and more rewards—yet not necessarily sustainable growth, a healthy token model, or long-term capital inflow. An ecosystem can function technically, but if the token collapses, fresh capital will eventually dry up. Are governance systems the future of DeFi—or a structural flaw?
