Protocol upgrades are where @BeldexCoin tries to keep confidential transactions practical. Privacy proofs consume block space and verification time. If proofs are large, throughput falls and storage grows. The Obscura upgrade, activated around December 2025 in project disclosures, introduced Bulletproofs++ and was described as cutting proof size by roughly 38 percent versus earlier Bulletproofs. Smaller proofs mean more confidential transactions per fixed block size and lighter verification. That is an engineering response to a known privacy-chain problem: confidentiality is expensive. Other roadmap items include VRF-based selection, research into fully homomorphic encryption, and longer-horizon work on post-quantum assumptions. These are research directions, not finished guarantees. FHE could allow computation on encrypted data, which is relevant if the project wants private smart-contract-like behavior. Quantum-resistant designs matter if current discrete-log assumptions weaken. The honest framing is incremental. Each upgrade changes performance, complexity, and the set of things auditors and attackers must study. Users should treat hard forks as both improvements and new surface area. A privacy network that never upgrades can stagnate. A privacy network that upgrades constantly can introduce bugs. Capacity to coordinate masternode upgrades is part of security, not only cryptography.
