Chainalysis: Global Taxable Crypto Activity Reached at Least $45.7 Billion in 2025 | #Analysis 📌 According to Chainalysis’s analysis covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, BNB Smart Chain, and Base networks, global taxable crypto activity reached at least $45.7 billion in 2025, with the U.S. accounting for $112.6 billion of this total. Regionally, North America led with $134.6 billion, surpassing the European Union’s $125.1 billion. 📌 The figures reveal a striking picture when compared to some countries’ public finances: Portugal’s $2 billion in taxable crypto activity equals 201% of its government’s $1 billion budget deficit in 2025, while Nigeria’s $4.4 billion in activity represents 12.3% of the country’s total government revenue of $35.5 billion. 📌 Chainalysis’s methodology excludes centralized exchanges and certain transaction types, meaning the $45.7 billion figure represents a lower bound. It is emphasized that the OECD’s Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), set to take effect in 2027, will cover only 14% of this activity, with the remaining 86% consisting of unregulated areas such as decentralized exchange trades, peer-to-peer transfers, and on-chain income.
