Ethereum ecosystem news: US-listed crypto ETFs saw mixed flows on October 15 as Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $5.1 million. Ethereum ETFs, including BlackRock’s ETHA, lost $44.4 million in one day, with a two-day outflow now at $60.3 million. Solana ETFs dropped $9.8 million, with Grayscale’s GSOL down $6 million. XRP ETFs had $1 million in outflows, led by Bitwise’s $3.7 million in redemptions. Bitcoin ETFs, like BlackRock’s IBIT, saw a slight rebound after a $261.4 million outflow the day before.

Key takeaways

  • XRP, Solana and Ethereum ETFs record fresh withdrawals
  • Bitcoin funds attract $5.1 million despite broader weakness
  • BlackRock's Ethereum ETF loses $44.4 million in one session

US-listed cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds moved in opposite directions on October 15, with XRP, Solana and Ethereum products recording net outflows while Bitcoin ETFs attracted fresh capital.

Bitcoin funds gained approximately $5.1 million, reversing the previous session's $261.4 million withdrawal. Ethereum ETFs, meanwhile, lost $60.3 million, extending their losing streak to two consecutive trading days.

XRP and Solana ETFs Face Renewed Withdrawals

According to CryptoETF Today's XRP tracker, XRP investment funds recorded approximately $1 million in net withdrawals on October 15.

Bitwise's XRP ETF accounted for $3.7 million in redemptions, partly offset by $2.7 million flowing into Franklin Templeton's XRPZ fund.

However, XRP ETF flow aggregators disagree on the final total. Other trackers report smaller withdrawals, reflecting differences in fund coverage and how daily flows are calculated.

Despite the latest weakness, the five funds monitored by CryptoETF Today have attracted approximately $1.81 billion in cumulative net inflows since launch.

Solana faced more sustained selling pressure.

Data from Farside Investors shows Solana ETFs lost $9.8 million on October 15, including $6 million from Grayscale's GSOL and $3.8 million from Bitwise's BSOL.

The decline follows an earlier $24.8 million weekly withdrawal, which ended a 14-week inflow streak.

BlackRock's Ethereum ETF Loses $44.4 Million

Ethereum experienced the largest withdrawals among the four major assets.

According to Farside's Ethereum ETF data, US spot Ether funds recorded $60.3 million in net outflows on October 15, following $129.5 million the previous day.

BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led withdrawals with $44.4 million, while Grayscale's ETHE lost another $18.3 million. Fidelity's FETH partially offset the decline with $2.4 million in inflows.

Together, Ethereum ETFs have lost approximately $189.8 million over two trading sessions.

The continued redemptions follow an earlier ETF selloff that coincided with weakness across cryptocurrency markets.

Nevertheless, cumulative net inflows into US Ethereum ETFs remain positive at approximately $13 billion since launch.

The distinction matters because short-term withdrawals do not necessarily reverse the broader institutional adoption of Ethereum investment products.

Bitcoin ETFs Return to Positive Flows

Bitcoin funds showed greater resilience during the latest session, although the recovery was modest.

According to Farside Investors, BlackRock's IBIT attracted $16.8 million on October 15, offsetting $7.6 million in withdrawals from Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust and $4.1 million from Invesco Galaxy's BTCO.

That left combined Bitcoin ETF inflows at just $5.1 million.

The improvement followed a much larger $261.4 million outflow on October 14, when Fidelity's FBTC and BlackRock's IBIT led the selling.

Are Investors Favoring Bitcoin Over Altcoins?

The latest figures suggest that Bitcoin-linked investment products attracted more demand than major altcoin ETFs during one trading session.

However, the broader weekly picture remains negative. Between October 12 and 15, Bitcoin ETFs lost approximately $146 million, while Ethereum funds shed around $250 million.

That limits the significance of Bitcoin's latest inflow.

There is also no direct evidence that investors withdrawing money from XRP, Ethereum or Solana funds subsequently purchased Bitcoin ETFs.
