Odaily Planet Daily reports that Solana has not experienced any mainnet outages for two consecutive years. According to a report from Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), the network has made progress in resilience, economic security, and performance metrics.
The report states that higher staking participation and incentive mechanisms rewarding validators support Solana’s economic security, while low latency, improved scalability, and low-cost transactions enable its scalable applications.
The report also noted that concentration among a small number of validator identities and operators, as well as centralization in custodial and client software, requires continued monitoring. Jacob Creech, Vice President of Technology at the Solana Foundation, stated that Solana reduced slot time to 350 milliseconds on August 21; the foundation announced in June its plan to further reduce it to 200 milliseconds, followed by three additional 50-millisecond adjustments.
