ChainCatcher report, according to CoinDesk, Vibhu Norby, Chief Product Officer of the Solana Foundation, stated at the Digital Assets Summit (DAS) in New York that the Solana network has processed 15 million on-chain payments from AI agents, primarily for machine-to-machine business interactions, with stablecoins emerging as the default settlement tool for AI agents paying for compute and services. Norby noted that the programmable nature of AI agent payments gives them a unique advantage in crypto payment scenarios, and he believes this trend will fundamentally transform how the internet monetizes commerce by enabling micropayments down to fractions of a cent, billed per usage—an impossibility with traditional payment rails. Norby added that when AI agents choose a crypto payment method, Solana is typically among the top options. He anticipates that within the next few years, 95% to 99% of crypto transactions will be initiated by large language models (LLMs), with user interaction with crypto networks shifting primarily through AI agents.
