The privacy sector is surging in this market rally, surpassing its October 2025 high by 213%. Zcash (ZEC) leads the way, with the sector’s total market cap reaching $33.6 billion. Over the past 30 days, the privacy sector gained 90%, fueled by ZEC’s 2,496% surge and Monero (XMR) doubling in value. ZEC holds 62% market dominance, but all eight privacy assets with at least one year of data posted gains—even a portfolio excluding ZEC rose 85%. Altcoins to watch in this rally include XMR and other privacy-focused projects.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Glassnode posted on X that, despite Bitcoin still being 36% below its October 2025 high, most sectors of the crypto market remain at low levels—however, the privacy sector is the only one to outperform its previous market peak, rising 213% since October 6, 2025.

Data shows that all ten major sectors rose over the past 30 days, with the privacy sector leading at a 90% gain. The total market capitalization of the top 200 privacy-focused crypto assets has now risen to approximately $33.6 billion, up significantly from $7.1 billion a year ago, with nearly half of this increase occurring in the past 30 days. Zcash (ZEC) has climbed from the 82nd to the 7th position in market cap, surging 2,496% over the past year, while Monero (XMR) has doubled in price during the same period.

Although ZEC accounts for approximately 62% of the privacy sector's market capitalization and its strong performance has driven the sector's gains, the rise in the privacy segment is not driven by a single asset. All eight privacy assets with at least one year of historical data have risen; excluding ZEC, the weighted portfolio of privacy assets still increased by 85% over the past year, reaching 56% above Bitcoin's October 2025 high.

Among the top 25 assets by market capitalization, only ZEC, HYPE, XMR, and WBT are currently above their levels from October 6, 2025, with two of these being privacy-focused assets. Data shows that 91.5% of the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market cap rose over the past 30 days, but only 25 assets gained over the past year, indicating that the recent rebound has broad market support, while last year’s strong performance was highly concentrated in the privacy sector.
