BlockBeats report: On August 28, the prediction market platform Polymarket US withdrew two contract applications related to NFL player participation. These contracts had been certified with the CFTC the previous day and were withdrawn one day before their scheduled listing date, with the platform providing no public explanation. The contracts were based on whether a player would participate in at least one offensive or defensive play, to be settled according to official NFL game records, and classified as binary option-style swaps.
On the same day, Polymarket registered price contracts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana with the CFTC, also in the form of binary option-style swap contracts.
