Derived from TechFlow, Philippine digital bank GoTyme has launched a cryptocurrency service in partnership with U.S. fintech firm Alpaca. The service, integrated into its banking app, allows users to buy and store 11 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL), with transactions automatically converting Philippine pesos to U.S. dollars. GoTyme, which has 6.5 million customers, aims to simplify crypto purchases for users without the need for complex technical analysis or multiple apps. The bank, established in October 2022 by Singapore-based Tyme Group and Philippine conglomerate Gokongwei Group, plans to expand to Vietnam and Indonesia, prioritizing growth over profitability in the near term.
