Based on Blockchainreporter, Osmosis, a decentralized exchange and DeFi hub on the Cosmos blockchain, has burned over 8 million OSMO tokens and introduced an automated token burn mechanism. The platform announced a token burning program on October 26, 2025, with the first phase targeting 100 million tokens over 30 days. On November 10, 2025, Osmosis implemented the automated burn system, which now burns approximately 79,000 OSMO tokens daily. The automated process uses network fees to repurchase and burn tokens, aiming to create a deflationary effect and increase scarcity. Analysts estimate the annual burn rate at 28.84 million tokens.
