According to on-chain news from Bijié Wǎng, NVIDIA is reallocating GB202 chip supplies away from GeForce RTX 50 series gaming GPUs toward RTX PRO Blackwell professional cards. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5090 D v2 will be discontinued, leaving the RTX 5080 as the top gaming GPU. IT Home reports that the new RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell matches the performance scale of NVIDIA’s flagship gaming models. Crypto news outlets are monitoring this shift as part of NVIDIA’s broader strategy to prioritize professional markets.
CoinMarketCap reports:

A source, MEGAsizeGPU (@Zed__Wang), revealed today that NVIDIA will no longer allocate the GB202 GPU to GeForce RTX 50 series gaming graphics cards; its supply will be exclusively reserved for RTX PRO Blackwell professional graphics cards.

This means both flagship products, the GeForce RTX 5090 and the GeForce RTX 5090 D v2, will be discontinued, and the highest-performance gaming GPU available to players will be downgraded to the GeForce RTX 5080.

IT Home notes that NVIDIA currently offers three GB202-based RTX PRO products: the RTX PRO 6000, 5500, and 5000 Blackwell. The newly released RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell shares the same GPU scale as the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5090 D v2.
