Monero (XMR) has edged ahead of Chainlink (LINK) in market cap, hitting $10.07 billion versus $9.96 billion, according to market trends. The $110 million gap remains tight, with both assets vulnerable to market volatility. Monero’s recent rally pushed it into the top 10, while Chainlink’s 18% weekly gain could help it reclaim the spot. Monero’s RSI is near 70, and Chainlink’s is above 75, signaling possible short-term corrections.

What to Know

  • Monero’s $10.07 billion market value surpassed Chainlink’s $9.96 billion capitalization, creating a narrow $110 million gap between both cryptocurrency rankings.
  • Chainlink gained nearly 18% weekly while Monero declined 1.4%, leaving LINK positioned to challenge XMR’s newly secured top 10 ranking.
  • Both assets show overbought conditions, with Monero’s RSI near 70 and Chainlink’s reading above 75, raising potential short-term correction risks.

Monero (XMR) has overtaken Chainlink (LINK) in market capitalization, returning the privacy-focused cryptocurrency to the market’s ten largest assets. Market data values Monero at approximately $10.07 billion, narrowly exceeding Chainlink’s capitalization of approximately $9.96 billion.

However, the difference stands at only $110 million, leaving their positions exposed to modest price movements across either market. XMR secured its ranking through a substantial monthly rally, although LINK delivered stronger performance during the past week.

Monero traded near $350 in early August before climbing toward $570 and later consolidating around $536. Meanwhile, Chainlink gained nearly 18% during the same period, including an 8.7% increase over the latest 24 hours.

LINK recovered from its August range between $8 and $9 before breaking above the important $13 level. Consequently, Chainlink has narrowed Monero’s capitalization advantage and could quickly reverse the current ranking order.

Technical Indicators Place Both Assets in Overbought Territory

Monero retains a positive technical structure because XMR trades comfortably above several important moving averages. Its 20-day moving average stands near $470, providing immediate technical support beneath the current market price.

Monero’s relative strength index sits around 70, showing strong momentum alongside an increased possibility of consolidation. Chainlink appears more extended because LINK’s relative strength index has climbed above 75 during its latest advance.

Moreover, its 20-day moving average remains near $11.15, considerably below the recent trading price around $13.50. The area between $13.50 and $14 represents the next resistance zone that Chainlink buyers must overcome.

A sustained breakout above that region could provide enough valuation growth for LINK to reclaim Monero’s position. Conversely, rejection near resistance could preserve XMR’s advantage, particularly if Monero holds above its 20-day moving average.

Therefore, investors must monitor price performance and circulating supply when assessing changes within the overall rankings. Monero holds the higher position because its wider monthly advance produced greater capitalization growth.

Nevertheless, Chainlink carries stronger weekly momentum and needs only a modest increase to erase the $110 million difference. Both cryptocurrencies remain technically extended, making their ranking contest sensitive to profit-taking and broader market volatility.
