Israel’s largest bank, Leumi, is advancing a cryptocurrency trading service for retail customers. Disclosed assets available for trading at launch include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, with the service expected to go live in early 2027.
Leumi integrates with the Galaxy platform
This service will be offered to customers through Leumi and its mobile banking brand, PEPPER. Following the partnership, Leumi will integrate with Galaxy Digital’s institutional-grade infrastructure, GalaxyOne, to execute cryptocurrency asset transactions.
GalaxyOne primarily serves clients such as banks and asset management institutions, offering services including digital asset trading, financing, and staking. For Leumi, this means its crypto business will be built on top of its existing institutional platform, rather than developing a completely new system from scratch.
Initially supports three major cryptocurrencies.
The initially disclosed assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. The report notes that the list may expand in the future, with other assets such as XRP also expected to be added.
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Solana (SOL)
Expected to open in early 2027
Please note that this service has not yet been officially opened to customers. According to the bank, the related functionality is expected to launch in early 2027 and will be available through a dedicated section within the Leumi Trade capital markets app.
The bank stated that the related trading environment will focus on security and compliance, providing customers with a regulated entry point to digital assets. If implemented as planned, Leumi will become one of Israel’s first banks to directly offer cryptocurrency trading services to customers.
