ChainThink reports that on August 4, according to Yonhap News, Google, in collaboration with Broadcom, Apollo, Blackstone, and other institutions, has established a financial network totaling approximately $200 billion (around 286 trillion Korean won) to expand the market penetration of its proprietary AI chip, the TPU.
It is reported that Google has entered into a TPU supply agreement with Anthropic and has funded the construction of a data center to be leased to Anthropic. To diversify direct ownership risk, all parties have jointly established a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) called "Compute."
Last month, this SPV completed its initial purchase of 1 million TPU units for $35 billion, with funding provided jointly by Apollo and Blackstone, and residual value guaranteed by Broadcom.
In addition, Google has partnered with companies such as TerraWolf, Cipher Digital, and Hut 8—enterprises that have transitioned from cryptocurrency mining—to build data centers and ensure power supply.
