Flowra launches Open Orderflow Auction to open Solana’s MEV market Flowra has rolled out its Open Orderflow Auction for the Solana ecosystem, unveiling a competitive block-building system designed to democratize access to blockspace, sharpen MEV price discovery, and boost validator revenue. What it does - Instead of routing transaction orderflow through closed channels, Flowra’s auction lets registered searchers bid openly for transaction inclusion. Validators can then choose bids transparently, capturing more of the value generated by MEV (maximal extractable value). - The system targets the validator layer — changing how blocks are constructed and blockspace allocated — with the aim of improving transparency, value distribution, and incentive alignment among validators, users, and builders. Early test results Flowra published preliminary results from tests on a single validator: - Compute units per block increased by 20.6%. - The validator’s throughput moved from 84% to 101% of the network average. - Higher block fees were observed compared with comparable validator software. - The setup achieved 100% block production and 99.999% block engine uptime. Flowra says these are early figures from one validator as it expands onboarding to institutional-grade validators ahead of a wider rollout. Programmable Block Policy and compliance tooling Alongside the auction, Flowra introduced Programmable Block Policy, letting validators define transaction-inclusion rules at the block-building layer. This aims to give validators operational flexibility — for example, to meet regulatory or institutional compliance needs — without changing the Solana protocol itself. Flowra also announced a partnership with compliance provider Honeypot to bring sanctions and risk screening into that block-building layer, preserving verifiability and auditability while allowing validators greater control over block construction. Inspired by Ethereum’s market-based model Flowra cites inspiration from Ethereum’s proposer-builder separation (PBS), where block builders submit bids and proposers choose the most profitable offer. Flowra believes Solana’s high throughput and low latency can support a similar competitive market for blockspace. “Solana’s performance has made it one of the industry’s leading blockchain networks, but its MEV market remains largely concentrated,” Flowra CEO Harry Hwang said. “By opening block building to transparent competition, we’re creating a more efficient market for blockspace while giving validators greater control over how their blocks are constructed with full verifiability and auditability.” Who’s behind it Flowra builds validator and order flow infrastructure for Solana, including validator software, delegation programs, and MEV-related tools. The company says its broader goal is to create a more open, efficient, and scalable foundation for blockchains while improving how value is distributed among network participants. The Open Orderflow Auction is now available to validators and searchers across Solana as onboarding continues. Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. Flowra has launched its Open Orderflow Auction for Solana, aiming to boost MEV transparency and efficiency. The system lets searchers bid for transaction inclusion, helping validators capture more value. Early tests showed a 20.6% rise in compute units per block. Altcoins to watch may include Solana as open interest grows with this new model. Flowra also added Programmable Block Policy and partnered with Honeypot for compliance. The design mirrors Ethereum’s proposer-builder split, pushing for fairer blockspace access.
