Today, a major European banking network announced a new development that has drawn attention from the XRP community, as more large institutions join the cryptocurrency space and begin supporting major crypto assets.
Recent reports indicate that Germany’s Sparkassen banking network has announced the launch of cryptocurrency trading services for its customers.
XRP transactions expanded to traditional European banks
Affected by this development, XRP is now integrated into Europe’s traditional banking system alongside other major crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon.
Effective October 19, DekaBank will provide the trading infrastructure required for clients to access these crypto assets, while Börse Stuttgart’s custody division will be responsible for the safekeeping of the digital assets.
Therefore, customers of savings banks within the Sparkassen network will be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies through the application they already use for traditional banking services.
This way, customers and potential users can trade supported crypto assets without first needing to open a separate account on a dedicated crypto exchange.
Trading XRP, BTC, ETH, SOL, and POL on Sparkassen
Although this listing has increased attention on the above crypto assets and made them more likely to achieve broader adoption, especially in Europe, the scope of trading services remains limited.
According to reports, this launch does not mean that every Sparkasse customer can immediately trade XRP or other supported cryptocurrencies.
In contrast, the institution stated that the service will be rolled out in phases, with each regional savings bank deciding when to activate it.
