ChainCatcher report: Cosmos cross-chain smart contract platform Neutron has announced on X that its network will transition to a long-term maintenance mode, prioritizing the security of assets for users, builders, and stakeholders. Key changes include: Supervaults will prohibit new deposits starting March 16; DEX and Supervaults will be fully suspended no later than April 17 (with withdrawals only available until June 30); dNTRN holders can exchange their tokens for NTRN via the Drop website or the Neutron app starting March 23; wstETH holders must bridge their assets back to Ethereum by June 30; the NTRN redemption mechanism will be announced later, and remaining assets after the foundation’s liquidation will be distributed proportionally to the DAO. Governance, staking, and validator systems will abandon Neutron’s custom model and transition to the standard Cosmos model; token inflation dynamics will be adjusted dynamically, with the foundation and DAO planning to burn a significant amount of NTRN to reduce supply; Hadron Labs will maintain the network until June 30, after which it will shift to a low-maintenance community-supported model; Fireblocks support will end by the end of April. The team stated that although significant innovation has occurred over the past four years, recent adverse market conditions and the lack of a viable long-term strategy led to this decision.
