Huoxing Finance reports that Circle has released a developer guide outlining how token issuers can enable cross-chain transfers of ERC-20 tokens other than USDC via CCTP. Issuers can deploy new native cross-chain tokens or configure existing ERC-20 tokens with custom CCTP connections; both methods leverage Circle’s message and verification infrastructure using a burn-and-mint mechanism. Issuers retain full control over ownership, operations, pause permissions, rate limits, and per-transaction caps—Circle cannot assume control. According to Circle’s developer documentation, CCTP for non-USDC tokens launched in September 2026 and supports EVM chains including Ethereum, Avalanche, OP Mainnet, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon PoS, and Arc, but does not support non-EVM chains such as Solana.
Circle Expands CCTP to Support Non-USDC ERC-20 Tokens Across Multiple Chains
MarsBitShare
On-chain news from Circle shows the company has expanded its Cross-Chain Token Protocol (CCTP) to support non-USDC ERC-20 tokens across multiple chains. Developers can now deploy new tokens or configure existing ones using Circle’s infrastructure, with full control over operations and limits. The non-USDC CCTP went live in September 2026, covering Ethereum, Avalanche, OP Mainnet, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon PoS, and Arc. New token listings can now leverage this system for cross-chain functionality without relying on USDC. Solana and other non-EVM chains remain unsupported.
