The company disclosed that it manages $13.1 trillion in client assets and serves 39.8 million brokerage accounts, with Paxos handling execution and sub-custody. During its July earnings call, Charles Schwab stated that progress on the crypto business is on track, initiated a pilot for crypto asset transfers, and has taken an equity stake in Paxos. Initially, only Bitcoin and Ethereum are supported; deposits and withdrawals are not available, and SIPC protection does not apply, except in New York and Louisiana. Charles Schwab clients already hold approximately $25 billion in crypto ETPs. On July 16, Morgan Stanley’s E*Trade launched trading for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana via Zerohash at a fee of 50 basis points; Fidelity charges 1%, while Coinbase’s implied consumer trading fee is approximately 1.75%.
