ChainThink reports that on August 27, at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference, Changpeng Zhao stated that Bitcoin will ultimately surpass gold and recommended that countries allocate their strategic reserves according to market capitalization proportions among the top five cryptocurrencies (excluding stablecoins).
Zhao Changpeng noted that the current market capitalization gap between Bitcoin and gold is only about 10 times, and Bitcoin could surpass gold in the next bull market. In terms of reserve allocation, Bitcoin typically accounts for more than 50%, Ethereum 10%–20%, and other assets such as BNB will also be included.
He emphasized that the risk of not using Bitcoin is greater than treating it as a dangerous asset, drawing an analogy to the real threat posed to nations by not investing in AI technology—large-scale national transitions take time, but the trend is inevitable.
