Citing The Crypto Basic, Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, announced the official launch date for the NIGHT token, the native token of Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain, Midnight. Speaking at the Midnight Summit, he confirmed that NIGHT will be distributed to eligible recipients and listed on multiple exchanges on December 8, 2025. The token will be distributed in four 25% tranches over 12 months, with the remainder unlocked every 90 days. The Midnight airdrop is currently in the Scavenger Mine phase, which ends on November 19. The team has already minted the full 24 billion NIGHT supply. Hoskinson also outlined Midnight’s roadmap, including a federated mainnet launch in Q1 2026 and an incentivized testnet in Q2 2026.
