ChainCatcher report: According to official announcements, Matrix, BNB Chain’s execution rollup project, has completed a $7.5 million Series B funding round, with participation from ParaFi Capital, Tribe Capital, Point72 Ventures, CMT Digital, Lightspeed Faction, BITKRAFT Ventures, Makers Fund, and others.
The funds from this round will primarily be used to advance the mainnet launch, build the ZK validity proof system, and decentralize Stage 2. Matrix is built on the Facet tech stack and is compatible with the BNB Chain PoSA consensus, featuring no centralized sequencer or administrative privileges—transaction ordering is determined directly by BNB Chain. The official team claims this can increase the effective execution throughput of the BNB ecosystem by 3–5 times. Matrix Testnet Phase 1 has been live since October 3.
