BitGo opened a new Singapore office on September 2 as the digital asset infrastructure company expanded its Asia-Pacific hub. In its official announcement, BitGo said its regional client base has tripled since its Singapore subsidiary received a Major Payment Institution licence two years ago. The expansion combines a physical office move with additional hiring and growth in the company’s institutional trading business.

The Office Follows BitGo’s 2024 MAS Licence

BitGo Singapore received its Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore in August 2024. The new office will serve as the company’s regional base for Asia-Pacific operations rather than a separate newly licensed entity. BitGo said it plans to continue hiring for client coverage and business operations roles in Singapore.

The company identified governments, regulated financial institutions, payment providers, fintechs, digital asset businesses and eligible private investors among the clients it serves across the region. Those descriptions outline the target customer groups; the release did not disclose a regional revenue figure, office investment amount or planned headcount.

APAC Clients Tripled as Singapore Staff Doubled

BitGo reported that its Asia-Pacific client base has tripled since the 2024 licence was granted, while headcount at BitGo Singapore has more than doubled. The company did not provide starting or current totals for either measure, so the percentages cannot be translated into absolute customer or employee numbers from the announcement alone.

The update nevertheless gives a dated measure of BitGo’s regional expansion. Singapore’s licensing framework also provides a regulated base from which the company can offer digital asset services to institutional customers, subject to the scope and conditions of its local authorization.

BitGo Prime Reports Higher Singapore Volumes

Singapore also hosts the largest trading desk within BitGo Prime, the company’s institutional trading and financing division. BitGo said the desk’s trading volumes more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. It attributed the increase to a larger role for Asia-Pacific clients in its global business, though it did not publish nominal volume data.

BitGo Prime connects institutional clients with liquidity from exchanges, market makers and other providers while integrating execution with custody infrastructure. The office announcement comes after BlockchainReporter covered a separate BitGo institutional settlement integration, illustrating another part of the company’s regional infrastructure offering.

The Expansion Is Operational, Not a New Product

BitGo did not announce a new token, blockchain network or retail trading product. The concrete development is an expanded Singapore operating base supported by company-reported increases in clients, staff and prime-brokerage activity. Future hiring remains a plan rather than a completed result, and the announcement provides no timeline or target for those additions.
