Bitcoin Drops Nearly $5K in 24 Hours as Crypto Market Slumps

Bitcoin news broke late Friday as the price of Bitcoin (BTC) plunged nearly $5,000 in 24 hours, hitting $85,300 on December 15—the lowest in over two weeks. Ethereum (ETH) dropped below $3,000, down 6.5% in a day. The crypto market cap fell 4% to $2.93 trillion. XRP and SOL also saw sharp declines. Bitcoin ETFs saw $357 million in outflows, with Ethereum ETFs down $224 million. Over $655 million in leveraged positions were liquidated, mostly longs.
