BlockBeats news, on August 29, Avici posted that its card issuance partner, Rain, discovered a vulnerability in an older version of the Solana card contract used by Avici and a few other projects today. The affected contracts have now been upgraded across all projects, and no further unauthorized activity has been detected.
Avici stated that this incident only affected the independent Solana contract used to store card balances after deposits; users' Avici wallets and card balances are isolated from each other, and funds in Solana and EVM self-custody wallets remain secure and unaffected.
Current verification shows that a total of 1,685 users were affected, with a combined card balance of approximately $500,900. Avici has committed to fully refunding the card balances to all affected users and has filed a report with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
BlockBeats reported earlier today that the native token AVICI of the crypto banking project Avici appears to have been hacked, resulting in losses of approximately $1.02 million. The attacker transferred the stolen 10,000 SOL to another wallet, exchanged them for approximately $1.02 million in USDC, and then used cross-chain operations to convert the funds into approximately 418 ETH.
