Odaily Planet Daily reports that the Layer 1 blockchain Aptos has launched its Encrypted Mempool feature on mainnet, aimed at reducing MEV-related risks such as front-running and sandwich attacks.
This feature is an optional mechanism: when enabled, pending transactions remain encrypted until block transaction ordering is finalized, preventing bots from accessing transaction details such as assets, amounts, and smart contract interactions ahead of time and using that information to execute targeted trades.
Aptos states that this feature is primarily designed for institutions executing large on-chain transactions, traders seeking to reduce MEV risk, AI agents, and developers.
According to Cointelegraph, citing EigenPhi data, Ethereum traders lost approximately $60 million to sandwich attacks over the past 12 months through October 2025. Meanwhile, Bitquery statistics show that Solana experienced nearly 6.9 million sandwich attacks over an 11-month observation period, involving around 2.2 million wallets and generating approximately $29.7 million in profits for related bots.
