I want to share it with you all. Someone asked: Why don’t you buy a new car? ❓ Why don’t you upgrade your phone? ❓ Why don’t you buy the things you want? ❓ Honestly, we do want them. The desire hasn’t gone away. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started seeing things differently. We’re not just paying with money— we’re paying with time in our lives. Let’s say a car costs 1 million baht. Some people buy it with weekends spent over years. Some buy it with overtime work. Some buy it with declining health. Some buy it with nearly their entire lifetime. Phones, homes, clothes, watches— new things in general—are the same. So the question isn’t just: Do we have enough money to buy it? It’s: Is this thing truly worth the time of my life I’d have to trade for it? And ultimately, we must answer for ourselves: We work harder to buy more expensive things— but how much has our quality of life actually improved? How much has our life truly changed? If the answer is yes, I won’t hesitate to buy. But if the answer is: it barely changed anything at all… Then what’s the reason we must keep buying newer, pricier things, following every trend, every潮流, only to go back and work even harder to pay for them? Isn’t it better to keep using what we already have? I think sometimes, wealth isn’t about owning every new thing.
