Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama federally charged with cryptocurrency-related home invasion robbery. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama (real name Isaiah Dukes) has been indicted by a federal grand jury along with five others for allegedly participating in a cryptocurrency home invasion robbery, facing charges of robbery and kidnapping. On March 8, three suspects, disguised as food delivery personnel, broke into a residence in Winnetka, a northern suburb of Chicago, with guns, held the victims for about an hour, and demanded that they open safes, computers, and cryptocurrency accounts. The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Winnetka police participated in the investigation. Osama was charged on April 16, and his lawyer stated that Osama did not participate in the robbery nor did he plan the incident. All seven defendants pleaded not guilty and were ordered to be detained. Osama was previously sentenced to 14 months in prison in 2024 for possession of a machine gun.
