paying in USD with a USDC-denominated KuCard, or any transaction where currency conversion is required prior to settlement. The FX fee is calculated on the converted transaction amount and is applied in accordance with the applicable fee schedule.

Illustrative Examples

(For illustration purposes only; actual rates may vary)

Scenario – Foreign currency card payment (FX fee applies)
Transaction: Customer A makes a purchase for AUD 200, settled in USDC.

Assumptions:
Mastercard exchange rate: 1 USDC ≈ 1.41 AUD
FX fee: 1%

Calculation:
Converted amount: AUD 200 ÷ 1.41 ≈ USDC 141.8
FX Fee+Transaction Fee: USDC 141.8 × (1%+0.5%) ≈ USDC 2.1
Total charged amount: USDC 141.8 + USDC 2.1 ≈ USDC 143.9

Result: At least USDC 143.9 (or the equivalent value funded via crypto-asset conversion) is debited from the customer’s Funding Account.

Important note: During authorisation, a slightly higher amount may be temporarily held to account for exchange-rate fluctuations. Only the final settled amount is charged, and any unused portion is released back to the Funding Account.

Important information

All KuCard transactions are settled in USDC. Crypto-assets are used solely as a funding source via conversion and are not transferred to merchants.

Exchange rates are determined by Mastercard (for FX) or KuCoin (for crypto-asset conversion), as applicable, and may fluctuate.
Fees, rates, and availability may change in accordance with the KuCard Terms of Use and applicable regulations.
