Q&A from KuCoin

Q: Can you please introduce yourself?

Marianne: My name is Marianne. I am the Marketing Director at Deesse. I implement marketing campaigns, promotion, social media, content creation, channel partnership as well as community building, a quite broad scope of duties.

Prior to that, I did research on blockchain projects for three years, focusing on the application layer and ecosystem projects, especially on GameFi and Metaverse projects.

I joined the Deesse team because I like working with an energetic professional team across the world to build something potentially having a significant impact on the gaming industry and, in the meanwhile, with fun factors.

During the AMA Free-ask section, please feel free to ask any valuable questions. We care about our audiences, users, players. And we will happily listen to any constructive advice from you.

Q: Please introduce your project and the problems you want to solve / solutions you are proposing.

Marianne: Deesse is a blockchain-enabled, idle Role-Playing Game (RPG) or Card Placement Game (CPG) with progress-based and skill-based features and incorporating Play-to-Earn mechanics, allowing players to earn tokens and NFT in the gameplay. Deesse will be available on mobile apps and web pages and open to international players.

As a well-developed Japanese Anime style game with 2-D artistic design and renowned voice actor casting, the game has already gained enormous popularity in the traditional Japanese gaming market. In the past few months, a dedicated professional team in Japan, together with international partners, are leveraging blockchain technology to transform the successful traditional mobile apps games in Japan into blockchain-enabled GameFi projection with an expansive international user base.

The problems we are trying to solve are simple, some "meaningful" activities are boring and disengaging with objective function but ignoring human factors or motivation driving actions. We try to use game dynamics plus the DeFi concept to motivate people's behavior and create values within game economics. This includes in-game economics design, storylines, strategy or skill applied, aesthetics, role-playing, etc.

Q: Can you share more about Deesse's in-game NFT system and its core gaming features?

Marianne: In the game, players will need at least 1 NFT character card to start the game (4-6 NFTs are preferred, as one will have a lower winning probability). Cards can be acquired by borrowing, purchasing, completion of in-game tasks, participation in community events (Whitelist campaign), etc.

Each Card represents one Goddess character (out of 40), and it will assume one of the four roles (vanguard, wizard, archer, helper), comes from one of the three mythological camps (Japanese, Greek, and Nordic), and bears either one of the five rarity levels (N, R, SR, SSR to UR).

Players can upgrade their Card’s capabilities index by using wearables, equipment, gear, and other in-game items. These cards can also be leveled up upon winning battles and advancement to higher levels, unlocking new skills or capabilities. NFT character cards are the most valuable assets in our game economy. Please check out our website for more information.

Q: What is the utility of your platform token, LOVE?

Marianne: There are multiple usages for LOVE:

1. Governance token (proposal and voting);

2. Staking rewards (aged staking pool) at the beginning;

3. Used as a booster for in-game reward or unfold hidden tasks or missions;

4. Used in crafting, minting, and fusing NFT;

5. Access to PVP leaderboard and other event exchange for in-game currency.

LOVE token is currently listed in Huobi Global and KuCoin, and our NFT Character Card can be traded at Binance NFT marketplace and Deesse's website marketplace. All with reasonable liquidity.

Q: What is the project status? And what can the community expect in the next month or two?

Marianne: We are currently working hard to make sure the following things will happen on time:

1) Start on beta testing in mid-March 2022 and will invite whitelisted players and Guilds to join in the test with token rewards;

2) The Deesse marketplace was launched in February 2022, more NFT assets will be available;

3) The NFT mining pool and NFT fusing function would be available at the end of March 2022 to incentivize early adopters and holders of our NFT Character Card;

4) Live chat program (with a real Goddess playing a game together). Please stay tuned.

The next steps for us are:

1) We highly encourage the community to keep an eye on the NFT fusing function – how the low rarity card upgrading into high rarity card vs. listed price of those Character Cards;

2) Local communities will be established and expanded. By then, the DAO system will be running.

Q: What is your go-to-market strategy?

Marianne: Deesse would adopt a community-driven approach by the community and for the community. Nowadays, communities have a competitive advantage, and we believe in the power of the community.

1. Social media: Twitter, Discord, and Telegram are the three main base camps for the Deesse community. All news, updates and communication will happen there. The admins are all volunteers and work with the team closely to manage those social media channels.

2. Guild: Partnership with guilds is a critical strategy to bootstrap the network with sufficient participants across the world. Guild will provide a critical economic scale at a relatively high speed. The downside is that Guild players probably are more incentive-driven and take a short-term view. Currently, YGG SEA is a partner of ours.

3. Channel partner: We will work with various channel partners (online game distribution channel or ads platform) to reach out to potential game players such as YouTube, TikTok, etc. We've been working on the TikTok post recently.

4. Content creation by the community: We expect community-driven content creation to promote the games and attract users via inbound marketing - pull instead of push.

5. Interest-driven instead of incentive-driven: Airdrop definitely can attract a large number of followers in a short period of time, but it is transient and short-term. We hope to assembly a strong community via a common interest in gameplay, 2-D Japanese animation, etc.

6. Game itself is social media: We launched an online game player companionship plan. We are recruiting real Goddesses to play together with gamers online. There is a strong network effect to grow the user base virally.

Q: How does the staking system work for Deesse?

Marianne: Basically, Deesse staking systems can start with a low requirement of a minimum of 1 NFT Character to begin with. The lock-up period will be in a selection of 14 days, 30 days, as well as 90 days.

During this period, withdrawals will not be allowed. After the staking period, users can request to unlock it manually, and the pending time for unlocking will be within 72 hours.

As NFT prices fluctuate between different rarities, we will base it on current market prices, e.g., N=3 USD, R=18 USD, etc.

As for the staking share rewards, users can gain up to 60% of what they stake! By staking, users can also receive an invitation to join Deesse as a beta test player! We've already received more than 15,000 respondents, according to our Google form.

Very promising and optimistic about our game launch.

Q: What is this live chat program about?

Marianne: It is a program that allows our players to enjoy Deesse more by connecting them with an online real-time companion. Our program is open publicly to our community, so we can benefit everyone to enjoy our game while being able to earn too!

Players will be able to talk to lovely girls online while playing Deesse, and girls will be able to earn while playing. The chat between players and our ladies could be about anything and everything, from the game itself to other things in life - jokes, sports, any interests in life.

The ultimate goal is to help people who live in the virtual world build more meaningful connections.

Q: How does Deesse live chat program work hand in hand with beta testing?

Marianne: As aforementioned in the previous question, users have to stake in order to receive an invitation to join Deesse as a beta testing player.

One of the benefits of staking will be that users can also gain access to free live chat programs as well. This live chat program will be integrated into the Deesse game during the beta testing phase, and beta players will be able to gain first-hand experience on this live chat program with our Deesse “Goddesses”.

We are still recruiting Live Chat Goddesses. If anyone is interested, please contact our community manager.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit more about the DAO establishment? What is your plan?

Marianne: As a global GameFi project, we always intend to extend our community to different countries and reach out to more people. We are now planning to go to the Turkish, Korean, Indian, African, and South American markets with the DAO program.

In this program, we will reward people who finish the tasks we launch in order to make the game global. Tasks including official documents translation, marketing campaigns, community incubation, business collaboration, etc.

If anyone is from these areas and wants to have a chance to be a local team leader, reach out to us! We will set up for a quick interview and go from there. You can just DM me.

More details will be released soon. Stay tuned!

Free-Ask from KuCoin Community

Q: Can you tell us about your team members? Are they qualified and professional in their fields? What are the qualifications for team members for your extraordinary project?

Marianne: Our team consists of game experts and crypto natives. Three founders are native Japanese with decades of experience in the entertainment, gaming, PR, mass communication, and marketing sectors. They crafted many top TV shows, games titles, events and won industry awards. They are highly respected professionals.

Behind them, there is a dedicated team of 18 members. 12 for tech/engineering/designer, 4 for marketing/operation/community, 1 for BD, and 1 for Admin/HR. The team is mainly based in Japan.

Q: Does your project only for elite investors? What about others with small funds? Is it open to everyone?

Marianne: Yes, it is open to investors with small funds. You can just buy our token, LOVE, and NFT to become an investor. We are also planning to have some fiat payment vendors coming in to reach out to non-crypto people.

Q: Does your project has a plan to educate the community, thereby raising awareness, applying, and helping more people understand you easily?

Marianne: Yes, we will have a workshop to train the future local leaders about our working process and principles.

Q: Do you allow suggestions and feedback from the community? Are we allowed in decision-making? Do you put the community into consideration?

Marianne: Of course. Our team members are constantly checking the messages in the community. We take shifts to do this in order to listen to our audience. We will even reward valuable feedback after the game launch.

Q: When will it be available on the mobile app and web page? How can someone get started for now?

Marianne: You can join our beta test now by staking one NFT or LOVE token. Please check out our Twitter for more information.

Q: I see the gap between traditional gamers and blockchain gamers is still very large. How does your platform bridge this to attract more traditional gamers to try new blockchain games? And is your project specifically for gamers? What about non-gamer users? Can they still generate income even without playing your game?

Marianne: For crypto users, we highly recommend them to play the game while they can still earn by staking. For non-crypto users, we will do more marketing campaigns and partner with regular payment vendors to make the process easier since we already had audiences before the game launch.

Q: Many NFT games have big crashes as there comes a time when players get bored or disappointed with the project. So, what measures will you take to keep these players in your game?

Marianne: Our game is designed for long-term players. Players cannot reach a certain level easily and quit. The more you play, the more adventure you would like to try!

Q: Too many projects promise magic but never release any working product or prove any revenue within a short/long time of release. Is your project also like this? If not, can you tell us what makes your project different from other projects?

Marianne: We have already launched the beta test. Feel free to try and let us know your opinions!

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share or you want us to know?

Marianne: We'll keep working on our game development to satisfy our players! Also, we are recruiting live chat goddesses and local community leaders. Feel free to reach out to our community manager!
