Simple explanation of multi-hop vs single-hop (in terms of trust) person-to-person wealth redistribution: https://t.co/YNVSqoLqLG. "CirclesUBI" is a (money-system-wise confused) example of the latter (as is AlexJC's proposal in 2014 for demurrage in Ryan Fugger's 2003 Ripple, which was one year before "CirclesUBI" was proposed and money-system-wise coherent and logical...) An example then of the former, multi-hop, is my Resilience (and there is then there no competition, so, no other example...) "CirclesUBI" was never a competitor (nor was it ever a meaningful architecture), it is a different category of systems and Resilience never aspired to compete in that "give only your friends money" category. Resilience is a societal-scale system, a collectivist system not just a friend group. Not just people you know. A network.
