🚀 420,000+ COMPUTERS. ONE GLOBAL NETWORK. Most people look at Pi Network and see a cryptocurrency. But the bigger picture may be far more interesting in my opinion. 🌐🧠 Pi Network has now surpassed 420,000 Pioneer-operated computers participating in its Node network. That is not simply a number. It represents a massive distributed infrastructure layer — built from computers operated by people around the world. 💻🌍 In traditional blockchain systems, nodes primarily maintain the ledger and participate in consensus. Pi Nodes are designed to do that through an adaptation of the Stellar Consensus Protocol, where distributed nodes can reach agreement without relying on energy-intensive Proof-of-Work mining. Instead, the network uses quorum-based consensus and a trust graph to help determine agreement. 🔐⚙️ But the long-term potential of a network with hundreds of thousands of distributed computers may extend far beyond transaction validation.
