Native USDC Issuance on Cosmos Only @noble_xyz. CCTP, or Cross Chain Transfer Protocol, is a protocol developed by Circle that allows for bridgeless and secure USDC transfers between chains. In the old bridge model, tokens are locked and wrapped tokens are minted. In the CCTP model, old USDC is burned and the original USDC is minted on the new chain. Therefore, CCTP eliminates the need for a bridge. Because assets are not locked, bridge contracts are not targeted. The burning/minting process is signed by Circle. There is no complexity associated with wrapped USDC. Liquidity is consolidated, and price volatility in DEXs is eliminated. Noble is the official USDC issuance chain of Cosmos.
