⚠️ Tusky - the largest decentralized storage application on Walrus announces its closure due to unprofitability and an inability to raise capital 🥹 Additional info: Walrus is a Data Market platform, meaning Walrus is not a storage application like Filecoin, but Tusky is more like Filecoin, built on top of Walrus. However, Tusky is currently one of the largest projects built on Walrus, and Walrus is the flagship product of Mysten Labs - the parent company of Sui. If Walrus loses Tusky, the project will lose a significant amount of users and data (Tusky has already asked users to download all their data). But why hasn't Walrus stepped in to save or acquire Tusky to continue its operations? 🧐 💯 Update: Walrus is suggesting users can migrate their data to @ZarkLab, which is currently offering 50 GB of free storage for users migrating from Tusky. ---- On a side note, Aptos is also building a similar project to Walrus called Shelby @shelbyserves.
