gRaiku 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗸𝘂 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗖𝗼-𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻a Trading isn't always about who has the best strategy or who pays the highest fees. Sometimes, the difference comes down to how quickly your order reaches the place where blocks are produced. That's the idea behind co-location, which @raikucom is bringing to Solana through its Blackline system. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 Solana validators take turns producing blocks, and traders need their transactions to reach the right infrastructure in time. → A trading strategy sends orders through the network. → Those orders compete with other transactions for inclusion. → Network delays and transaction ordering can affect when an order gets included. Even a strong trading algorithm can lose an advantage if its transaction arrives later than expected. The strategy might be fast, but the infrastructure connecting it to block production can still create a gap. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗸𝘂'𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 Blackline is designed to run a firm's trading strategy on the same physical machine as a Raiku validator. Instead of sending orders from a separate server and relying entirely on network communication, the strategy operates alongside the validator producing blocks. → Less distance between the strategy and block producer. → Less reliance on external network hops to communicate with that validator. → A more direct position within the block-production process. Raiku says eligible orders can receive guaranteed inclusion in blocks produced by its validator, subject to the terms of the arrangement. That can offer a different kind of execution advantage. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘀 Priority fees help transactions compete for inclusion, while private RPC endpoints can improve how transactions are delivered to the network. Co-location takes a different route. → Priority fees compete for block space. → Private RPCs focus on transaction delivery. → Blackline places the trading strategy directly alongside the validator infrastructure. These approaches address different parts of execution, and they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 Co-location doesn't guarantee that every trade will be profitable or successfully executed. Inclusion in a Raiku-produced block also doesn't mean inclusion in every Solana block. Access, available capacity, and the specific arrangement still matter. The interesting part is the shift in thinking: instead of only trying to make transactions travel faster, a trading firm can change where its strategy operates within the execution infrastructure. On Solana, an edge may come not just from how you trade, but from how close your strategy sits to block production. @slimzycpt
