Solana vs Ethereum — DEX Trading Volume Surpasses, but SOL Price Lags Behind ETH A puzzling contradiction: Solana’s on-chain activity has surpassed Ethereum, yet SOL’s performance has significantly underperformed ETH. ① Data: Solana’s daily DEX trading volume reached $5.11 billion, exceeding Ethereum. Developer activity score: 21.5, the highest across all chains. Stablecoin settlement share: 53% (Ethereum: 35%). However, since the start of the year, SOL is down 40.6%, while ETH is down 37.5%. The SOL/ETH exchange rate has declined 24.16% quarter-over-quarter. ② Why? Several factors: ETH rose 20% in July (from $1,600 to $1,920), benefiting from ETF inflows and staking narratives. SOL has been weighed down by the BonkDAO attack, delays to the CLARITY Act, and recurring geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Moreover, Ethereum’s “institutional narrative” (staking yields + ETFs) has resonated more strongly with investors this cycle. ③ My personal take: Short-term price movements are driven by narratives and sentiment, not fundamentals. Solana’s fundamentals — DEX volume, stablecoin adoption, tokenized stocks — are comprehensively stronger than Ethereum’s. Yet the market is assigning a higher premium to Ethereum’s “staking + ETF” narrative. In the long run, price will eventually align with fundamentals. But for Solana to outperform ETH in this cycle, it needs a stronger institutional narrative catalyst. Passage of the CLARITY Act and the mainnet launch of Alpenglow could be those two catalysts. @solana @Solana_zh #Solana #Ethereum #DEX #PriceAnalysis
