OpenAI just slashed GPT-5.6 pricing. Luna is now 5× cheaper: $0.2/$1.2 per 1M tokens, down from $1/$6 at launch. Terra is down 20% to $2/$12 per 1M tokens. The cuts apply not only to the API, but also to quotas in Codex and ChatGPT Work. Lower costs could make large-scale deployments and experimentation much more attractive. Sol didn't get a price cut, but it now has a Fast mode that's 2.5× faster at 2× the price. OpenAI still hasn't shared a launch date for the Cerebras-powered Sol.
