Solana’s Quantum-Safe Roadmap This message has been largely overlooked, but I believe it could be the most important step in Solana’s long-term strategy. ① Solana is developing a quantum-safe roadmap. As quantum computing advances, current cryptographic algorithms—such as Ed25519 signatures—are theoretically vulnerable to quantum computer attacks. The Solana Foundation has already begun researching migration paths to post-quantum cryptography. ② This is not “a problem to solve someday”—IBM and Google are both accelerating quantum computing research. If quantum advantage arrives sooner than expected, blockchains without migration plans could face catastrophic consequences. ③ To be honest, most people won’t care about quantum safety—because the quantum threat feels too distant. But I believe whether a chain takes long-term security seriously reflects the team’s mindset. While Solana is actively rolling out “today’s” upgrades like Alpenglow and Firedancer, it’s already thinking about threats a decade out. My own assessment: Quantum safety will become an invisible tipping point in future L1 competition. Chains that plan ahead will migrate smoothly; those that don’t may one day suddenly realize their cryptographic foundation is no longer secure. Solana has chosen the former. @solana @Solana_zh @SolanaFndn #QuantumSafety #Solana #PostQuantumCryptography #LongTermThinking
