"A milestone for privacy infrastructure, not just for Litecoin, but for the entire crypto ecosystem." That is David Schwartz of the Litecoin Foundation, September 2025, announcing the American Fortress Litecoin Wallet: MWEB privacy by default, FortressNames, c-filters, beta "this September." It is now October 2026. Thirteen months later, I went looking for the milestone. Here is what the public record shows: - The announcement (September 8, 2025) - confirmed, on the Foundation's own X account - The beta planned for that same September - no public evidence it ever shipped - A production release talked about for Q1 2026 - no public evidence either - The current @Americanfort_io download page: one macOS beta, beta network only, names that "cannot be used for real transactions" To be fair: the general beta does list Litecoin among supported chains. That is not the same product as the dedicated Litecoin-native wallet announced with a Foundation quote and a launch month. I am not singling out Litecoin or AmericanFortress. This is the industry default. The announcement gets the headlines, the price reaction, the KOL threads. The follow-up gets nothing, because nobody's job is to check back. So here is a habit worth stealing: when you amplify a partnership, set a reminder for six months later. Grade the announcement then, not at the press release. Partnerships do not expire. They just quietly stop being mentioned. The checking is the content.
