⚡ Placeholder Partner: The Current Market Resembles an Early Bull Market Opportunity; Advises Long-Term Investors to Systematically Accumulate Tokens On October 19, Placeholder co-founder Chris Burniske published a post stating that long-term investors should not obsess over timing entry or exit points, but instead systematically and consistently accumulate tokens, avoiding the conflation of long-term investing with short-term trading. He recommends investors use their most successful past investment as a benchmark and calculate target holdings based on the proportional supply of each network token. For example, with ETH’s total supply at approximately 120 million, if an investor previously held 10 ETH, then proportionally, SOL (total supply ~636 million) would equate to about 53 tokens, and TIA (total supply ~1.16 billion) to about 97 tokens. If the goal is to hold 10 times the network share previously held in ETH, then approximately 970 TIA tokens would be needed. For ZEC, whose supply is similar to BTC’s, investors can use their desired BTC holding quantity as a reference to set a ZEC accumulation target. Regarding the current market, Burniske noted that many crypto assets have declined more than 20% to 40% from their highs, while BTC has fallen less than 10%. He believes BTC’s relative resilience has already triggered significant corrections in risk-averse assets, making the current environment more akin to an early bull market opportunity than a warning sign of a bull trap. However, he cautions investors to remain mindful of potential further price declines and suggests deploying remaining cash in tranches, adjusting allocation based on the probability of local price bottoms at different levels. It is acceptable to retain some cash if predetermined price levels are not reached. In periods of market weakness or early bull market pullbacks, consistently accumulating target assets using a high-conviction approach is more important than repeatedly trying to time market movements.
