Banks are getting a way to move real deposits across public blockchains @KeetaNetwork and @LayerZero_Core are bringing tokenized commercial bank deposits to Ethereum, Solana, Base, and the Keeta Network, per The Block. Each token represents an actual deposit held through licensed money transmitter Bivo, not a pooled reserve. Nine currencies launch this month, including the dollar, yen, and dirham, with issuing banks retaining full contract authority. A consortium of major US banks is building a similar system as a closed, banks-only network.
