I don't think the idea behind Fogo is to build a chain for one perp DEX ser, but to build an L1 infrastructure where any high-performance perp DEX can actually function properly. Most L1s weren’t designed for latency-sensitive trading and so there are limitations, and i can give you a couple of examples: Hyperliquid started on the EVM, then had to build HyperEVM because ETH as a general-purpose couldn’t give them the performance guarantees perps trading need in the long run. Dydx did same, they left Ethereum and built their own optimized chain on Cosmos for perps trading. From my own understanding, Perps DEX push chains to their limits hence why most of them are forced to go sovereign later. Fogo's bet right now is that it’s better to build an L1 that is optimized for these constraints and challenges upfront rather than just building another general purpose L1 that successful perps project will inevitably outgrow and abandon. Finally ser, Ambient is built with Fogo. One of its founders @0xdoug is also a co-founder of Fogo. As a matter of fact, Ambient design influenced Fogo’s trading-focused architecture and build. And so the idea is, if Fogo as the L1 base layer can handle Ambient, then it can certainly handle any other Perps DEX.
