Cosmos Spaces nails exactly why I've never really been a fan of the grant-heavy model most Web3 ecosystems run on. Cosmos drops seriously good blockchain OS tech basically for free. Teams spin up their own chains, launch tokens, cash out. Then the second Cosmos tries to monetize a couple enterprise modules to keep things sustainable, people act shocked. Grants sound nice on paper but they attract the wrong behavior. Too many teams chase the easiest money instead of the best infrastructure. I've been saying this for a while. Back in March 2024 I threw out this idea for how Stardust Collective / Constellation could do things differently. What if grants were structured as interest-free loans (or even better - loan the actual node collateral while Constellation keeps custody until the project actually delivers a working metagraph on mainnet)? No free $DAG that can get dumped. Real skin in the game. Forces teams to build on the tech because they believe in it, not just because the bag is open. Builders should pick a network for the infrastructure and what it can actually do - not who is handing out the biggest handout this month. What do you guys think? Is the current grant model broken or am I missing something?
