Crypto markets have been selling off, but interestingly, DeFi borrowing rates have been spiking as liquidity tightens. My take is that rates could start normalizing once the panic settles. So I decided to put that view to the test on @KairosSwap, which recently introduced prediction cards for DeFi rates. Just opened a Down position on Aave's USDC borrow rate: • Position size: 137,793 USDC (notional, only 10 USDC used as collateral) • Direction: Down ↓ • Break-even: 8.33% • Settlement: Nov 1 Basically, instead of betting on whether BTC or ETH goes up or down, you can now trade the direction of DeFi rates. Pick a market like Aave or Compound's borrow rate, or Hyperliquid's funding rate, and take Up or Down. These daily markets settle based on the average rate, with trades matched through an onchain order book on Base. I like the concept because DeFi rates are constantly moving, but there haven't been many simple ways to express a directional view on them. Krystals Season 1 is also running 💎 USDC prediction-card trades earn Krystals whether your call is right or wrong, although the trade itself can still lose money. Use code QkcdDGaA at https://t.co/qtDCDq1i4c, make your first rate call, and start stacking Krystals before Season 1 ends.
