The Dow Jones US Total Market Confirmation Is +7.76%. Last Week It Was +8.24% & +7.99% respectively. The Domestic US MDT was -0.23% lower this week. Last Week -0.29% lower, which is -0.52% for the last two weeks. By comparison, the International MDT which includes European, Asian and South American Indicators is +7.18% above its sell trigger, Confirmation +6.08%. Last Week +7.19% and +6.69%. International was -0.01% lower this week. Last Week -0.56% lower, which is -0.57% for the last two weeks. Don't Trust, Verify. But exactly how do we do that? How does it apply to the following choices and direction we take in life?: DeathEver Expanding Life It's actually quite simple. This week’s brief is on bad data. Not the market. But the file mentioned in a report. The tip from an unstated source. The post that looks official and isn’t. If you want to jam a company, a city, a police department, or a government, you don’t always need a riot. A false report will do it. Somebody drops a story into the machine, social media, news etc. They, and you, treat it as real until proven otherwise. Hours vanish. People get pulled off actual work. Everybody worries about the wrong thing. 1) Problem: The system is already thin. Cops, analysts, HR, newsrooms, agencies... they’re all running short. Then a “credible” report lands. It has names. Dates. A tone of authority. So it gets chased. Days later it’s junk. The real case or story sat in the queue while that happened. Sound familiar? Solution: Don’t treat authoritative “sounding” as "actually" authoritative. If it didn’t get checked against something you can put your hands on, it’s a rumor with a letterhead. 2) Problem: Files don’t forget. Once a bad item is in the database, it keeps getting copied. Briefings cite briefings. Background checks cite old notes. One planted line can tilt a whole operation, a hiring decision, even a policy. Solution: A file is only as good as the last time somebody verified the source. If you can’t say who saw it, when, and how, it shouldn’t be driving action. 3) Problem: This is an old trick, not a new glitch. Sun Tzu already had a name for the person whose job is to feed the other side bad information. 死間 (sǐ jiān). Often translated in English as: Doomed Spies; Dead Spies / Death Spies; Expendable Spies (or) Expendable Agents. The meaning? An agent that carries “false information” to the enemy. Once the other side realizes the report is wrong, the agent is often finished, hence “dead,” “doomed,” or “expendable.” Let's make it even simpler: False Report Carriers, Professional and/or Otherwise. The civilian version is quieter. No battlefield. Just a rumor between two people, two teams, two countries. They stop talking “to” each other and start talking “about” each other. Solution: When two sides won’t settle, look for the third voice feeding both of them. Arguments that never resolve often have a supplier, somebody instigating. 4) Problem: Today the injection points are everywhere. Not just a spy in a folder. A viral clip. An anonymous “source.” A leaked screenshot. A polished write up that never happened. A tip line used as a weapon. A state, a company, or a family can get chewed up from the inside if enough of that gets treated as fact. Solution: Slow down before you pass it on. The person who benefits from the fight is not always in the fight. 5) Problem: Policy built on bad input looks like competence until the bill arrives. Wrong targets. Wasted money. The wrong people pulled into the mess. Then everyone wonders why nothing works. Solution: You could clean a surprising amount of public life just by sweeping planted junk out of the files and refusing to move on anything that hasn’t been looked at firsthand. That sounds boring. But It’s how you stop walking into walls. The simple version: Things are not going all right when institutions act on stories they never checked. The road to ruin is still paved with false information. The correct move is ugly and slow: prove it, or don’t act. The incorrect move is forwarding the file, data, meme, info because it felt true.
