The sooner Bitcoiners start seeing Litecoin as an ally and partner, the better. Litecoin has already done the MWEB upgrade… Bitcoin could adopt it using BIP8 process, letting the community talk about it and miners vote on it. If I had to guess the upgrade could be done in about six months… maybe sooner. Not only does MWEB provide fungibility privacy and scaleability, but it also offers stronger position than today when it comes to determining quantum resistant. Litecoin could actually help future-proof Bitcoin.
