Why do I increasingly feel that what BNB Chain lacks now isn’t more protocols, but more markets? I’ve been closely following @Hertzflow_xyz lately, and its Permissionless Market concept is particularly compelling. Many believe BNB Chain already has everything: DEXs, lending platforms, yield protocols—you name it. But if you think deeper, the actual assets being traded haven’t changed much. BTC, ETH, BNB… liquidity remains concentrated in these legacy assets. Yet new on-chain assets keep emerging: AI, RWA, Meme coins, GameFi—new narratives appear almost every other week. When will these assets get their own trading markets? Often, it’s not the market that decides—but the platform. Whether an asset gets listed, and when, is entirely up to centralized gatekeepers. That’s why, when I saw @Hertzflow_xyz, what struck me wasn’t leverage—it was the fact that they’ve opened up the ability to create markets. With Oracle support, any asset can launch its own trading market. I really like this approach. DeFi has always championed openness, yet many trading markets still operate under heavy centralized curation. Permissionless Market, by contrast, returns the power of choice to the market itself. Value isn’t determined by approval—it’s validated by liquidity and actual trading. That’s what I understand as the true on-chain world. — Another aspect I find compelling is Vault and Pool design. Most people immediately think of trading. But I believe capital is more important. BNB Chain already holds significant assets: BTCB, BNB, stablecoins… The real issue isn’t lack of capital—it’s whether this capital can generate more value. Hertzflow’s design enables traders, liquidity providers, and market creators to all participate together. Traders seek opportunities. Liquidity providers earn yields. Market creators bring in new assets. Everyone collaborates around the same market—not isolated silos. If this model scales, I believe it won’t just capture leverage demand—it could become the central hub for BNB Chain’s entire liquidity ecosystem. — One more point many overlook: Hertzflow has released both Simplified and Traditional Chinese interfaces. Many projects offer Chinese versions—but the real challenge isn’t translation. It’s whether complex DeFi concepts can be clearly explained. What is a Vault? How do you participate in a Pool? What exactly can you do with a Permissionless Market? If someone new to on-chain trading can quickly grasp these ideas, that’s true localization. Recently, they’ve even launched a contest to crowdsource Chinese names for their products. I really appreciate this approach. Instead of deciding a name internally and announcing it to the community, they’re inviting the community to co-create it. For Chinese-speaking users, this reduces distance and builds belonging. — After years in this space, I’ve stopped categorizing projects simply as “DEXs” or “leverage protocols.” I care more about what problem they’re solving. Hertzflow shows me something deeper than on-chain leverage. It’s attempting to answer a bigger question: As on-chain assets continue to multiply—who should decide which ones can be traded? If the answer is “openness,” then Permissionless Market isn’t just a feature. It’s laying the foundational infrastructure for BNB Chain to continuously spawn new markets. For now, it’s already on my long-term watchlist. What I’m most curious to see is whether more and more new assets will eventually grow their own markets here. If this model truly succeeds, the impact could be far greater than yet another Perp protocol.
